At the PalaTurismo in Jesolo the first part of finals came to an end. The Italian team had to give up against the Indian national team 3-1. Spain got the fifth place winning against Tunisia. [segue]

At the tie-break, Serbia, that took part for the first time in the international event, defeated Iran, team that was champion in office [segue]
The first final results coming from Bassano 9/5/2009
Puerto Rico has defeated Algeria that is now the last team in the final ranking. Egypt has won against Japan and ends up in the 13th place. During the semi-finals that took place in Jesolo, Spain won against India and Tunisia defeated Italy. [segue]
Iran vs. Serbia will be the final of the Boys Youth World Championship 9/5/2009
The Serbian team defeated 3-0 the Russian team and has now access to the final against Iran. Russia will play against Argentina for the 3rd place. The finals in Bassano del Grappa where Brazil defeated the US winning the 9th place. [segue]
Japan and Egypt are playing tomorrow for the 13th place 9/4/2009
The first part of the semifinals in Bassano del Grappa is now over. Puerto Rico and Algeria are playing the final match for the last two places. The other semifinals are scheduled to take place always in Bassano in the afternoon. [segue]

Bassano del Grappa is a city in the province of Vicenza, region Veneto, in Northern Italy. The original name of the town was Bassano Veneto.
After the terrible battles on Mount Grappa in WWI , where thousands of soldiers lost their lives, a decision was made to change the name of the town.
